The story of the Shea Corridor
How the area came to be.
The General Plan 2020 names Shea Boulevard East (from SR 87) the town's main gateway and calls for redeveloping the corridor's one story strip retail into a mixed use commerce and employment corridor, possibly with multifamily and taller buildings, and for partnering with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation's nearby resort and gaming uses. A Shea Boulevard widening project between Palisades Blvd and Fountain Hills Blvd has been under way, with Kitchell as construction manager.
