The story of the Shea Corridor

How the area came to be.

The Shea Area Plan was adopted by the Scottsdale City Council on June 15, 1993, and the General Plan 2035 lists it together with an earlier East Shea Area Plan as 'East Shea Area Plan/Shea Area Plan (1987/1993)'. The plan's Shea Corridor policies aim to protect existing residential areas while allowing flexibility for parcels that front Shea.

Shea Boulevard Streetscape Guidelines followed in 1994. The General Plan 2035 says the Shea Corridor Overlay can allow medically related services, corporate headquarters, or hotel uses for employers.
