The story of Greater Coronado

How the area came to be.

Greater Coronado grew from the 1920s Coronado subdivisions, the 1924 to 1946 Brentwood plats and the 1939 Country Club Park. Downtown Phoenix Inc describes it as three neighborhoods (Historic Coronado, Country Club Park and Brentwood) with over 5,000 households; the area on this map holds about 2,800 home parcels. Coronado residents filed a Special Conservation District plan in 1981, and the Coronado core became a historic district in 1986.
