The story of the Scottsdale Road Resort Corridor

How the area came to be.

Scottsdale's 2001 General Plan created a Resort Corridor Character Area, later folded into the Southern Scottsdale Character Area Plan, which calls for supporting, maintaining and expanding hospitality and tourism uses along Scottsdale Rd between Highland and Indian Bend Rd and promoting reinvestment there. The corridor's north end at Indian Bend Rd now holds The Palmeraie, an 18 acre retail and dining center approved by Scottsdale in 2017 as part of the Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley project.
