The story of Paradise Valley Village
How the area came to be.
One of the urban villages created under the Phoenix Concept 2000 plan (villages since 1979). It takes its name from the broad Paradise Valley basin north of the Phoenix Mountains, not from the Town of Paradise Valley, which is a separate incorporated town to the south.
Its village core is the former Paradise Valley Mall at Tatum Boulevard and Cactus Road (opened 1978 to 1979, closed March 2021), now being rebuilt by RED Development as the mixed use 'PV', whose first phase opened in late 2024. The City's village page describes it as known for open space created by the surrounding mountains, the Indian Bend Wash greenbelt and established neighborhoods.
