Home/Scottsdale homes for sale/North Scottsdale/Desert Mountain/Desert Mountain villages

The short answer

Desert Mountain is made up of separately gated villages. The HOA's governance page counts 28 villages, five incorporated village associations and 23 unincorporated villages, and its village maps page lists 30 village names, below. The club's own pages say 32 and 35, so treat any single number with care. Every owner belongs to the Desert Mountain HOA, and many villages add their own rules.

Village names and maps come from the Desert Mountain HOA, cited below. Part of our Desert Mountain homes for sale guide.

Village questions, answered

How many villages are in Desert Mountain?

The HOA's governance page counts 28: five incorporated village associations and 23 unincorporated villages. Its village maps page lists 30 village names, some combined, such as Gambel Quail and Preserve, Sonoran Cottages and Enclave, and Seven and Seven Retreat. The club's HOA page says thirty two villages and its home page says 35, so the count depends on the source.

Are all Desert Mountain villages gated?

Yes. The HOA's gate access page says all of the villages at Desert Mountain are gated, behind the community's main gate.

Do the villages have their own HOA?

Some do. Every owner belongs to the Desert Mountain HOA, and the club's HOA page says many villages are governed by their own rules, bylaws and architectural review guidelines. The HOA's governance page describes five incorporated village associations and 23 unincorporated villages, and an advisory Council of Presidents.

Can I search Desert Mountain homes by village?

Not reliably in the MLS. Most Desert Mountain listings record the subdivision as Desert Mountain without the village, so a village search needs addresses checked against the HOA maps. Our search on this page shows every Desert Mountain listing, and we can pull the sales for any village you name.

Which village is Seven Desert Mountain?

Seven and Seven Retreat appear together on the HOA map list. Seven opened in spring 2019 beside the No. 7 course, and the club's 2025 overview sheet lists homes by Cullum Homes (The Village), Camelot Homes (Villas) and Market Street Homes (Retreat, single level stacked flats). Every Seven property requires club membership.

Where do I find official Desert Mountain village maps?

On the Desert Mountain HOA's Community and Village Maps page, which has a community map and a map for each village. We link each village's map in the directory on this page.
